Like most of us who are doing thier best to stay healthy durring this pandemic " which BTW folks who havent recieved the memo IT isnt over.....!
Anyway im sure most of us are looking at our collections ,and using this time to enjoy your collection, and do things with it that you never seem to have time for before...
I got out a 20 cent piece I purchased at a show in Annapolis about 5 /7 years ago.
I know the dealer i purchased from...and have an idea what I paid , which is funny as this is one of the only time I can't recall not remembering what was paid.
Anyway...couldn't of been over 100. Bucks ive never paid retail on a its condition.
But for lack of something else to do i decieded to check on a this is the highest mintages of the series 1875 s .
Posted is it image for your opion, I knew that 20 cent pieces did hold value but what I noticed
was the pricing was all over the map. 20200606_093758.jpg 1591450830280_20200606_093809.jpg this is an 1875 s mpd . My grade an vf 15/20 on a good day.
Feel free to post your specimens as well thoughts on this series. I've owned a few...myself sold all but this one ,that filled the type set slot.
After studying the coin more the R in America has a interesting recut, and the 8 is hiding in the denticles.

Let me guess... if you bought it in Annapolis, you bought it from Richard Nanson, Mike Olson, or me. I was doing that show every time back then.

Yup Mike.... sitting next to Guy but that was a while ago.....the Knights of Columbus is now 500k town homes. I did quite well numerous times at the show.
And I must admit you had some sweet specimens, you know at one of Ralphs shows we did a horse trade a better date/ mm Buffalo for a cc dime if i recall...;)

Mike has good taste. Always a good source for better circ material like what you bought.

Thanks for posting...I've talked to Mike a couple times, but haven't heard anything else about the rest of the group.

Nice! This is an empty hole in my 7070. I’ve yet to own one.

The coin looks like a nice, original VF - 30 to me. Check out the price VF-EF, and you will have an idea. The 1875-S is the most common date by a mile. Unless the variety is really something special, the current catalog is a good guide.

Nice double dime, almost a circulated cameo look. I think around VF20.
I have bought a number of nice circulated silver coins from Mike Olson at the Richmond coin show; he has a good eye .

Your eye is spot on a vf 20 in hand.
And yes Mike is a good guy...i have made several purches from Mike over the years.
