My phone broke on me and left me having to wait til I could afford a replacement before having internet access again. I appreciate all the input and thoughts on the coin. It's slightly embarrassing having to ask about doubled die coins bc the internet is flooded with "rare doubled die" coins for sale without having been graded that I don't see any noticeable difference in from a regular coin yet I'll come across some graded coins that say doubled die and might have several bids on already and it's nearing $1000, but it looks like a normal coin as well. So I don't understand what to look for exactly to know if it's worth paying to get it graded just to find out it's worth just face value. Hopefully with everyone's help and much appreciated patience, I can start to get the hang of this. It's just difficult deciding if a coin is worth spending the money to get it graded when your numismatic knowledge is quite small and you're living paycheck to paycheck. I have 2 coins that's are favorite, an 1858 flying eagle penny and a 1926 peace dollar. And since the values change drastically depending on the condition and I'm no expert, I can't tell if the condition is good enough to have buyers. Anyway, thank you for all the comments and information. I get a little more educated with every post I make. Thank you all
Its a little like learning a foreign language with voice emphasis on which word you actually meant to use so natives understand, It takes time. At the level you describe, don't waste money sending any in until you have a high expected value for any coin. A photo of both sides usually can get a response from us that you can build on by detailing what you see. Have fun, Jim
Jim offers good advice. And we are a lot cheaper and are available to ask questions about a given specimen. Take the patient path and build up your knowledge and confidence.
