The inscriptions read, 'Doolittle Tokyo Raiders, 'First Strike' and April 18, 1942'. </p><p><br /></p><p>The reverse design depicts three 'Mitchel's' approaching their target along with the four patches that represented the elements of the 17th Bombardment Group participating in the action.
