Sounds more like jealousy to me that you couldn't do it.

"Yep, bad Karma. I only ordered 5 and they all look like 70's."

I highly doubt you got all 70s. More like maybe one. You can always prove it by sending them all in and get them graded.

We get what we get and it's all chance. That's the game.

Speaking of lack of accountability, this is what your tax dollars are paying for:

Unfortunately, for years it's been known federal employees cannot be fired easily. It's the same with the USPS. They can be as lazy and unproductive as they want and the union protects them. It's the same with many county and state employees. Hard to fire them.

Nah, I'm not getting sucked into the TPG game, paying more for grading than the coins. I can usually tell a 70 from a 69.

Some people never learn. Isn't this the same topic of a thread by this poster complaining about some other Mint product that wasn't perfect. If you want a "70" then buy one already graded. If you're complaining because you will not be able to flip all of these (after you also skirted the 5 limit per household), then I have little sympathy for you.

I was merely pointing out the sad quality of the mint product again. It won't bother me not to flip some of the bad sets. I'll just let the mint pay for me to send them back and get a credit for ones I don't want. If I was a real bad guy I'd just flip them anyway and send the crappy ones to unsuspecting Ebay buyers but I won't do that. What I do is no different than many other people in this forum and others that order what they can, flip some and keep a couple for themselves. You holier-than-thou people are no better than anyone else.

keemao, Sorry, but, we are just amazed at the irony of a person bragging about breaking rules to get more product and then complaining about the quality of the product.

No need to fuss about it. I'm glad keemao posted the pics and thoughts about quality (and I'm hoping for more pics to follow). As far as the "skirting the limit" thing, keemao isn't even a drop in the bucket compared to the giant companies gathering thousands of these coins.
The fact is there are collectors, flippers, and folks that do both on this site. Whoever you are, we can all learn together. And I for one appreciate these pics and the info.

We're not holier-than-thou. Some of us just tire of reading the redux of the same exact thread every time a new "US Mint product" is released. The irony is apparently lost on you -- someone who finds a way around the Mint limit and then openly complains and raises a stink about quality.

    Enjoy your coins...

The mint says 5 sets per household for order limit, not per person. Very easy to have some shipped to family or friend, and nothing shady about that in my opinion. They are trying to make it easier for lots of people to order, and the original poster (along with me), had to take extra time to order more sets for a different household. This gave others a chance to get some as well.

    Oh Stop.
The US Mint and its employees are not paid by US Tax Dollars. The US Mint is a self sustaining organization that actually pays millions into the General Fund every year after all costs have been paid toward operations including salaries.

The fingerprint on the dollar coin. Or whatever made it.

geez where's the quality control ? I will probably buy a PCGS slabbed reverse dime in MS-69-70 down the road.

Received my five sets this afternoon, and......

Not going to be any MS70s in this batch. All of the reverse proof dimes have the same exact problem. A tiny little spot of what I can only say looks like die burnishing located on the top band of the torch, slightly right of center. All apparently came from the same die. I also see what looks like pin points on three of the cheeks and necks. The Dollars are not clean either. There is another tiny spot of burnishing on the infant's forearm just to the right of the first skin crease along the top edge of the forearm. Would be interested in knowing if anyone else sees these on their coins. The West Point dime is better, but a couple have what seems like little bag marks.

My photography is limiting, but I'll try to get some examples of what I'm looking at.
