Well, you quoted a statement saying that not everyone outside the US is a crook, and you blantantly showed how you avoid buying from abroad. Since you had no other substance to your post, I had to make conclusions from what I read, and so I asked a question. What trouble? The 1% of the time the transaction turns inconvenient and eBay steps in and gives you your money back? You obviously have inflated the problem way too far in your head. I have had hundreds of transactions from abroad. There were only three times when a fake coin was sent when advertised as genuine (two of which were high-risk medieval Chinese coins). I got my money back in every case. Your fears are unfounded. Same as my point above. If you have any knowledge in authenticating coins, you will know that the fears are unfounded. You can simply avoid the listings that have fakes in them (which are almost always easy to spot). There are just as many fakes percentage-wise on eBay in the US as in other countries. But if you are just buying coins and don’t really have any idea what you are doing (like many collectors), then The Spruce’s advice is completely wise. Then don’t buy coins at all. I have seen fakes in brick and mortar stores and coin shows. Ebay is not the only contaminated coin venue. Don’t act like it is. Again, the statement you quoted and your subsequent reply implied that you think international sellers were crooks. Moderators are not infallible. No one is. I never thanked you.
