Wait a minute... couldn't someone IDENTIFY with being German, regardless of where they're actually from? Oh, never mind...
They were produced and sold by a conglomerate of different companies from different countries. The cultural and ethnic backgrounds of these companies and their employees are unimportant.
I’m not continuing this absurd attempt at an argument. You win. It’s a non denominational, multicultural, mutigeneratonal, intercontinental, genderless, non binary, inter species, interstellar all inclusive creation by every plant, animal, human, living and non living beings that excludes nothing/anything/or however something identifies
Wow. All I was doing with this original post was trying to find a real silver ounce coin for a sick kid who wanted one.
No offense intended, but if you emphasize, in pretty much every post to this topic, the "German context" of these coins, regardless of the various companies and their countries involved, I simply wonder why. One reason why the Mayer Mint was involved, I think, is that they are one of few places (or even the only one? don't know) making these thin gold coins - 1 oz, 65 mm. Elsewhere I mentioned a gold coin "from" the Solomon Islands which is 1/100 oz only, but with a diameter of 45 mm. No idea where these are made, but they sure are interesting ... Christian
I couldn't tell. You said both were worthless. Sounds like an opinion to me. Disconnection with reality seems to be an epidemic lately.
Worthless to me as far as a collectible of said coin.. IMO..and if opinions are not tolerated..then..how does one learn ?? How to waste money on BS coins??..
It was a general statement for everyone who chose to take my honest question to the knowledgeable and helpful people here at Coin Talk, and unfortunately many used this as a dumping ground for their whining, complaining, unfunny jokes and tireless non-subtle insults about the president. I don't need to address every single off-handed, off-topic remark on here. It's got to the point where I am going to be blocking people who are so anxious to pounce on an opportunity to bash Trump, irrespective of the clearly posted rules to not do so. I don't care who likes or doesn't like him. I like to watch sports, go fishing, and discuss and learn about coins to get away from this crap. My question was simple: how to know which 1 oz. silver coin featuring Trump is legitimate, if any. That was it. A friend of mine has a very sick son who simply liked my silver coin collection, asked if Trump was on any because the kid likes Trump. He isn't old enough to understand why a current president can't be on real U.S. currency. Instead, politically-charged malcontents have highjacked an innocent question. Some of you truly need to grow up and desperately need to go and visit your local pediatrician.
