These may have been used for the full value of a denarius when coinage in silver was scarce. There is also a theory that these were struck from worn dies once they were no longer suitable for the silver coins.</p><p><br /></p><p>I picked this one up because I thought it would make an interesting addition to my collection of Domitian denarii. Besides, it has the pegasus on the reverse.
