To kind of put that into perspective, the valuable examples probably only comprise a fraction of 1% of all the varieties and errors there are.</p><p><br /></p><p>The reason people like to collect varieties and errors are because they like them, they are different from the regular coins - not because they are valuable. And liking them is in my opinion the best reason there is to collect coins.</p><p><br /></p><p>You should also be aware that occasionally when a new variety or error is first recognized they may bring what some consider to be high prices, but even that is relative. And then, usually within a short period of time, the excitement wears off and values drop back to reality. </p><p><br /></p><p>Bottom line, what I&#039;m trying to tell you is that people don&#039;t get rich finding coins. Yeah it might happen once in a while, in fact it does. But you probably stand a better chance of winning the lottery than you do finding a truly valuable coin.</p><p><br /></p><p>As I mentioned above, collect coins because you like them.
