Does my 1977 D Penny have a Die Crack?

    Wondering if This is a crack Die On my 1977 D penny...Right above the "I" in Liberty...

    OK posted more pictures of the back side of the dime... And it's right above the I in Liberty on the penny.. I think

    Sorry. Didn't see the last few words of your post. It looks like a small die chip, which doesn't increase the value of the coin.

    So it is a chip die not just a scratch? OK well at least I was a little close.. .It's hard for me to know for sure or not... Thank you

    If you're referring to the slanted mark above the "LI" it looks like a gouge in the coin.....PMD.

    Sorry but it's just damage. The coin was hit or gouged like Chris said. Also Notice how the I is slightly slanted. Whatever caused the gouge also hit the I
