@Nathan Kristan Many of the members who regularly answer questions are very knowledgeable of the minting process. They are telling you that there is no way for an Indian design to be on your 1943 steel cent. It CAN NOT occur. Indian cents were last made in 1909, 34 years before the mint first used a steel planchet, so it can't be struck over an Indian cent. Also, you cannot have random images on the dies. The die making process doesn't work like that. What you have is some sort of staining or circulation damage that makes you think it's an Indian. It's similar to seeing shapes in the clouds, or pictures of Jesus on a piece of burnt toast. Hope this helps
