I am looking to buy a 1937 D 3 Leg Buffalo nickel. I have noticed on some slabs the reference of FS-020.2. What is this reference? Does this classification make the coin a greater value? Whenever I search for it online the only return is coins for sale with this designation. 1937 D 3 leg FS-020.2.jpg

FS numbers are assigned by Bill Fivaz and J.T. Stanton as found in The Cherrypickers' Guide to Rare Die Varieties and/or Cherrypickers'

So FS-020.2 is a die variety for the 1937 D 3leg Buffalo nickel

Is there any place I can see the description of 020.2?

Whitman publishes Mr. Fivaz's Cherrypickers guides in 2 volumes.
They are available from Amazon.com and other online retailers.
I picked up the latest edition at my local Barnes & Noble outlet.
Be aware that once you get the book(s), you'll be spending an inordinate amount of time checking your collection for varieties! :D
