Thankfully the worst experience we had was with my son, who was signed off as being OK by the birth hospitals pediatrician; but rushed back to another hospital with a pediatric unit the next day because he was completely yellow. He had jaundice so bad he was in the hospital for I think four more days spent strapped down on a board under a light until we could bring him home.
