The St. Gaudens is definitely one of the very well done copper rounds, it's almost as beautiful in copper as gold... ;)

I have a few of them, they are beautiful. I sealed them in airtight rounds and so far they remain bright and gorgeous. They will eventually tone and I keep a close eye on them to see how and when they will change. Enjoyed your post, thank you, good luck.

Not sure how fast they will change in an airtight but this is how fast they change with being handled...;)
I've had this one in my pocket for the last six months, took it straight out of a mint tube in BU and this is what it looks like now :jawdrop: 20210401_130411.jpg
Got some pretty crazy toning! Wonder if it could be considered natural toning? 20210401_130634.jpg

Nope, the 6 lb. 4 oz bar I poured and sold on ebay. I sealed them in plastic and numbered them beginning with CU. I still have the pics of that bar on my other laptop.

Yeah, they're all pre-82 and I bought them off someone who worked at a bank back then, I only got $2k because that's all he had.

Nah, but I did weigh some of them especially the 82's to make sure they were copper.
