I'm in this modern boat and like the thread starter...returning to the hobby after a couple decade hiatus. I have a LOT of time to make up and right now it's all high grade select modern series, all the time...working backward in all denominations. They're readily available, a no brainer to accumulate and a good re-learning experience as I lay the groundwork for select high grade classics (which I've already started).

Particular moderns I gravitate to are the most neglected and disliked...the misfits. Dollars Sac, Ike and Susie B especially...I seem to go for stuff with low mintage, low self esteem, low interest.
We own a couple commemoratives Bill of Rights, Botanical Gardens...I'm looking at some others to acquire. Some are really eye catching, others do nothing for me.

Generally I like the moderns - people despise them because of over-exposure

I'm hesitant to say this, but I enjoy hunting down Presidental Dollars. :foot-mouth:

But still, I prefer finding old coins! Modern coins seem to plain.
