I keep all my marketable coins in Quickbooks. The downside is I have to manually update the sell price. But, I do know how much I paid for each coin in inventory. I also track my expenses for the hobby. Needless to say, none of my charts show a profit. I am not much of a salesman.

I have Coin Elite, and easy and excellent program.

    And reasonably priced, updates available

I don't track any of that. Everything will pass to my heirs at a step up in basis.

I probably will not put the value of my collection here. you did prompted me to make color copies of all my slabbed PCGS and NGC coins for their identification numbers in case they get lost or stolen. I know many of my coins will remain the same in common coins. I know my more rarer coins will go up in value. Not sure how high they will go... not really worried about that right now. I do think it is a good idea to have a list of where you bought the coin at... the date you bought it....and who you bought it from. :blackalien:

...and your personal satisfaction is much, much, more than you ever paid. :)

Personally, I simply do not care. My heirs will worry about it. Its my hobby, my personal satisfaction. My wife and children are well cared for, so I am allowed to "waste money" on something that gives me pleasure. To the extent I leave a collection of some small value is a bonus for them, not a concern of mine really.

I used to keep a detailed list of my entire collection on hand-typed pages. I still have the latest copy, typed in the mid-1990's. Purchases made until 2010 centered on just US coins. Since that time, I keep an Excel spreadsheet.

Not a clue, it will change day by day, I keep spending money, and the program to catalogue it all crashed, so I don't know what I even have.

If you want to keep her, you'll probably want to leave it like that too. :p

Depends what you mean by "value." I can tell you what I paid for them, but not right off the top of my head (I'd have to go to my files for that). What could I get if I sold it all? No idea, but I do know I personally value the coins at more than that (otherwise, I would sell).
