I really like Mexican GOLD not so much the premiums however but you will easily
get that back because of the scarcity low
mintages are the norm, here’s a few peices
I have picked up over the years but always
looking for more prefer graded examples
but those are few and far between if you
have any Mexican GOLD post away !

    Greeting Group,
To answer your question,I can see no reason why they need to be mutually exclusive.
When I was a teenager a good friend whose father owned a Dry Cleaners showed me a Mexican 50 peso gold piece his father had found in a customer's suit pocket. The customer never returned to pickup his suit so after a year it became property of the my friend's dad.
I was fascinated by its beauty & the weight.
So when the opportunity presented itself in 2008 for me to put together the complete set, I took it.
Certain dates (1-My BD) chose to get the MS-65..the rest MS-63 & a few 64:

I bought the 1 re-strike ungraded so. it's weight in-hand could be enjoyed.
However, by the time I finished buying these earlier bullion coins the price of gold had become financially prohibitive for me.

Mexican Gold, especially the 50 peso it’s bigger in the hand and very substantial
1.2 OZ but the premiums are still way out
there over US GOLD I would like to find
a graded example for my collection as well.

The last Mexican gold I bought was 2 re-strikes of the 20 peso Aztec calendar. Unfortunately I waited too long to get a really good price, but what the heck, it's only money!

When it comes to GOLD it’s hit or miss especially if it’s foreign, I collect 1 OZ
Krugerrands have 16 but many years
are just unobtainable at any price !

I just looked up the average gold price per ounce in 2008....it was only $872.
Guess I was luckier that I knew at the time. Isn't hindsight a blast?

Yesterday when gold was $2043/oz eBay had the 50 peso 1947 re-strikes listed for only $100 over melt. That's the best price I've seen for a while.

That’s a great price ! Mexican GOLD usually goes way over that, was on APMEX
today and libertads and pesos were 3K plus.
