I have a dealer that I trust, and I especially like his bid board that ends every Saturday. In fact, it’s the largest bid board in Orange County, CA.
i regularly buy from a dealer in paris, he has given me excellent service and value for a number of years and i will continue to buy from him in preference to many others www.cgb.fr/monnaies/indexgb.html , i also have a good friend who deals in english hammered coins who i would trust anytime.
I have two local dealers I can trust. One that always seems to know exactly what I want and when, while another one trusts me more than I think I trust him--If I want something he gives me the keys to his cases..
I trust every dealer I've ever worked with. I trust they will send me the coin, they will cash my check, or they will take my return -- and if I didn't trust them I wouldn't have worked with them in the first place Beyond that, I don't really trust dealers to pick coins for me, I only trust my own two eyes.
I have a local dealer that I trust. He's friendly and always answers any questions I have. Plus his prices are fair. He gets like 90% of my business with Coastcoin.com(slabbed only) and ebay getting the other 10%. I notice a lot of people here buy from online dealers, any sites in particular? If anyone knows any dealers in the Northern NJ area that they can recommend I would appreciate it.
I stopped by there this past weekend for the first time. Very nice place. I wanted to get his opinion on this (http://www.cointalk.com/t187315/). There were quite a few people there and a ton of various coins on the bid board. So how exactly does that bid board work?
I buy most of my coins online from different dealers. I trust them to sell me what they say the coin is. I always try and respect them and I hope they do the same to me. The ones that I don't understand are the ones that don't return the e-mails that I send them asking about different coins I need. Returning a e-mail doesn't take that long, even just to tell me to call about a coin instead.
There are many dealers that I trust but not in the Rapid City, South Dakota area. When I go to the better show I like Kaminski Coin out of Wisconsin Dells, Wis. or John Jackson out of Souix City, Iowa. Don from Spirit Lake, Iowa is also about as honest as they come. Try these dealers and you will see that they are great guy's who care about the hobby and want the customers to be happy with the coins they buy.
I have a local dealer whom I usually never haggle prices with. Finally one day I asked if he had a 1938-D half dollar (which I was planning to purchase). He showed it to me, and said in plain English,"I can move on that price." I gained another level of respect for him.
