Maybe someone can define "out of control." Does it mean buying beyond one's budget? Buying anything that catches the eye? Or buying beyond whatever limitations one set for one's collection originally? The last is what happened to me: I wanted to do a US type set, but then became fascinated with Trade Dollar varieties, wanting a date run of bust halves, the early Walkers, etc. In that sense, "being out of control" may simply represent a fascination with many aspects of numismatics. (thereby justifying my behavior) (excuse me while I check some watched items on GC)

There has been a time or three where I was involved in researching or collecting some type of coin(s). Without finishing see something else and take off in that direction then another. I seem to certainly have that under control, but I do still watch myself. Yes, out of control can be entirely different things to different people.

I resemble that remark, except substitute 1970's for 1960's. I just won about 120 coins in an auction from Austria. Sure, sometimes I buy single coins, but groups are fun too.

My collection is well organized and secure. Looking at other aspects of my life, I am forced to conclude it was purely accidental.:wacky:

I just bought a lot fast and no time to go through it so I’m having fun and enjoying doing that now. At my leisure of course.

By out of control do you mean not sure what you all have?
I may have a few that fit in that category.
Someday I'll be able to get through them.

Yup, coins, rocks, fossils, minerals and antiques. Everything I collect. Notice the name under my name? It’s the truth. Lol

Haha....My #1 passion was music...I had a collection of guitars but sold most of them off. I'm just into coins and coin books now ..

My storage is out of control ... best thing I ever did was put together a spreadsheet with every coin in it and I try really hard to keep it current whenever I add anything.

At least I know what I own even if I don't know where it is :)

I’m working on that but I’m no where near complete.
