The latest addition to my Capped Bust Dime collection: 1825, variety JR-1, one of the scarce varieties for the year at R-4.

75 to 175 are known per the Mega Red Book, 4th ed.

More than likely dipped, but a nice example nonetheless.

Talking about the Mega Red Book, the 4th. edition features a nice, in-depth coverage of Dimes. It will not give you as much information, of course, as the dedicated publications, but it is very descriptive and I am finding it very useful.
Recommendable for anybody planning to get the Mega Red Book, and who is also interested in Dimes.

Nice, is the base of the 2 one of the diagnostics? Looks a bit unusual to me. But I usually look at CBH's.

The base of the 2 is much the same as other 1825's. The actual diagnostics for JR-1 are a repunched A in STATES and star 8 that almost touches the nearest dentil.
