gotta have fun but like the early commems that are dead now ya they are beatiful but also have bought a couple that I would rather spend $$ on a nice unc. Morgan but for the "investment"
If you buy "common" coins in "common" grades you will not make profit. Buy uncommon dates in uncommon grades that have been off the market for a good amount of time, and you will profit. Ugly coins, 'dreck', it won't make anything. I'm in for both, but mostly profit in the end. If I don't make a profit, I could care less..
Maybe Beautiful and dead for now but stock up old fellow. Those prices ain't gonna remain stagnant forever, and I do believe they will rise in the future. When I was a younger man I thought that "classic commems" were way out of my reach. They've since come down in price and now that I'm a bit older (immensely so ) I'm building a collection. Capitalize old fellow...
I'm just a collector of history, and coins are but a piece of the history I collect. I save my investing for things that actually make me a steady flow of money, and coins and bullion just don't cut it in that area. Guy
I mostly collect for fun. I have my limits, I don't merly save important money for one coin and "plan" to re sell it as a profit. I see it is a big risk.
It's a great hobby, you can go out and spend all your money and still have money when you return home
I collect for fun but only collect the coins I can get deals on and typically ones I think may appreciate over time...if that makes any sense. If they do not appreciate over time, then no worries as I had fun doing it and all of them will go to my kids anyway. I would not want to collect something that would likely depreciate in value over time. TC
When I was working a paying job, I did it for the diversion and relaxation it afforded me from the 60-80 hour weekly grind. Now that I am retired, I do it for my sanity. Chris
