Do you belong to the ANA?

Member here. As others have said for the benefits and I do think the ANA overall is a plus for the hobby.

Of course I do. I see no reason not to.. I am actually the contact person for another well known Coin Club that is also a member of the ANA.

I've been a member on and off since 1992. I like the numismatist, and the fact that i get discounted admission to coin shows. This stretch- i've been a member for 3 years and actually have to renew this month.

I feel there are not enough benefits that would be of use to me. "The Numismatist" is a good magazine, but it would end up piling up like CoinWorld did in my house. I have no need to want to submit to any TPG. I'm not into politics or the drama of it and it seems the past 10 years or so has been nothing but it.

The only benefit I would use would be the library and it would be limited to a few books. Since I don't heavily collect US, I wouldn't use it enough to get my money out of it.

 

Yes I am. I believe it helps support the hobby and I really enjoy reading The Numismatist.

 

I am and did so originally because I had quite a few coins I wanted to submit to NGC. Then I began attending many of the bigger shows, and with the ANA being a sponsor, admission is free. Then there is the library, none better and free to use as a member. I plan on doing some research there shortly. And lastly, I also am a casino chip collector, and their organization is headquarted in, and share the same building with, the ANA. (Not to mention the trade magazine and the Money Museum in Colorado Springs.) I will be at the Museum in just a couple of days. I definitely get my money's worth.

Joined originally so that I could attend the summer seminar (haven't made it yet), but I really like the Numismatist, and I bought and am working my way through the correspondence courses they offer. Doubt I'll attend any ANA shows in the near future, since CA has basically taxed them out of state, but I will continue my membership as long as I can afford it.

Yes and I renew every year. I like the magazine. I also like the "right" to submit directly to NGC although I never used it.
Probably the biggest thing I got from membership was free admission to the Boston coin show in 2010.
However I don't like the politics, secrecy regarding Larry Shepard and the fact that they let themselves get robbed.

 

Yes. I like the magazine and believe in the mission. I will be watching what they do about the coin doctoring definition (i believe they should follow the PNG) and will vote accordingly.

I have been a Life Member of ANA since 1986. I live 6 miles from ANA headquarters so my benefits are probably greater than for many members. I visit the ANA Library quite often. A new museum exhibit is being installed in the basement (I got a sneek peek today) and I will attend the opening ceremony next Thursday.

The ANA National Money Show is in Denver two weeks from now and I get free admission with my ANA membership. (Picked up my pass at ANA today. See below.)

The biggest benefit I get from ANA is education. Summer Seminar is incredible. Today I signed up for a two-day course on Grading US Paper Money which will conducted the two days prior to the ANA National Money Show in Denver. The Numismatist always has something interesting or educational. And the ANA Library is terrific. Every summer I stock up on numismatic books at the book sale each week of Summer Seminar. (The books in the sale are ANA Library surplus.)
