Was this close to the period they were phasing silver coins out?

There were a lot of silver coins in 1911, 1/2 mark and up I believe.

Actually I'm worried you might be getting interested in German Empire coins. Got outbid 3 times today, people in the office have no idea what I go through. Too much competition! LOL

Maybe one day. I like foreign coins (and have a bunch), but I have my hands full with large cents and Lincoln cents, and that will take me a while. Maybe on these auctions you are participating in you need to push the envelope. Win at all costs, I have done that before.

I'm looking for good Lubeck and Bremen examples without having to wreck my Son's college fund.

Save if you need to so you can win. Figure out what you in all likelihood would need to win at all costs, set that amount aside, then wait for a really nice coin (don't settle if you are going to do this), then wait until the last 10 seconds, then go in and snipe with the full amount you budgeted (ending in an additional 88 cents). If you do this, you will win a very nice coin at a good price.

My coin collecting is like going to a AA meeting. Hi, I am Derick, and I collect modern foreign coins. Need help please!

You don't need help. I am the same way and I am somewhat normal. :D

You don't collect any U.S. coins?

I do collect US coins. I have a geomet friend that does work for us from Arizona. I get coins delivered at his house and he brings it with twice a year approx.

Are you primarily collecting Chilean and South American coins right now because of your location?

    No, that is wrong.

It should be, "Hi, my name is lonegunlawyer and I have a problem..."

Yes, because of Chile customs and import tax. My most valueble collection is my South African coins.
