Here's the coin. I cracked it, Conder refuted it, David Lawrence refunded it, and NGC bought it back from them.

Is this true? The omegas were so good that they are really indistinguishable other than the markings they left? How were they made then - in order to be that good they'd have to be made the same way the mint makes them - right? If anyone knows a good article on it let me know thanks

No, TPG's never make any mistakes. They are infalable and always right, no matter what. You are hereby banned for life from any TPG forums for even wondering if they may be wrong. (tongue in cheek, of course, but this IS how they see themselves)

  6. You can't ask for much better service than that. From both the dealer and the TPG. A big thumbsup to Conder for picking it out as well.

Guy I'd readily agree that there are some people who apparently see them that way, but I don't believe for a minute they see themselves that way.

Maybe not to that extreme, Doug, but I say the odds are better than average that had he posted that question over on the CU boards he would be banned by day's end. That says a lot. We've all seen it happen, and for lesser things, many, many times there.

Not in private, but they do often try to give that impression publicly.
