Badly damaged Quarter. The good news is that it's not worthless. It's worth 25 cents. You can turn this in to a bank and get 25 cents in return Or use it to buy anything at any store that accepts US currency. You may want to do research on US Coin errors and what is an error instead of just damage. Most coins you will find are damaged and worn; probably 99% of them or MORE.
Welcome to the forum, Timexss. Stick around and you'll learn much. Please understand that many tens of billions of coins have been minted in our lifetimes, and with this comes near infinite ways in which they can become damaged. If you consider this and compare it to the relatively few ways genuine errors can be produced, it only goes to reason that when we encounter a coin that looks different from the expected, chances are great that it's simply damaged. Unfortunately, and as the others have said and/or alluded, this is the case with yours. Sorry, but no jackpots this time.
I know this violates every present social expectation, but in numismatics, “different” does not imply “important” all by itself.
It's Easter, so perhaps triggering the flake crowd should wait until tomorrow? Or maybe I should follow my own advice and simply say it's April Fools Day.
This is baldy damaged, worth 25 cents. But if you find a collector that likes this style (baldy damaged but still cool looking) of coin, they might pay you a little more than face value. If I were you I would post it on an online selling place for about 2 weeks, if it sells, it sells. If it doesn't, use that quarter on a gum ball. Treat yourself fellow coin collector.
Ok I will look. If I find someone I'll tell u. If I don't I won't. Simple. Save it, keep collecting, have fun. Enjoy the hobby.
Hey, there is always a chance of a good outcome, even if it's small, it's still a chance, don't give up on any coin, one day in the future, itll be worth a premium
THIS IS MY NEW REPLY*****. What I meant was that unique/weird coins sometimes have a chance, but just pure bad coins will never have a chance. To me your coin is unique.
