Yeah, they look frosty. One nice benefit of buying NGC coins from pictures is that if it’s a fairly recent generation slab you can check the certification for another perspective on the coin. The images aren’t always the best but still help for sure when trying to get a feel for it.
FWIW, the 1880-S is known for a strong strike and the optimal grade for collecting would be about MS65. The problem you might run into down the road is that a specimen in MS63 might not have much demand and end up selling for less than you paid. Chris
Unless it is a coin with high contrast between the devices and field. These tend to get good prices even if they don't make the PL status.
But, this coin isn't PL. It's just an ordinary MS63, and they're hardly worth the grading fees. Chris
Not a bad looking coin, but they’re so cheap in comparison to other dates that I would look for a 64 minimum if you’d like a bright 80-S. I finally found this one after hunting for awhile.
