Diva Faustina I AE As or Dupondius, 138-161 AD, 12.0g, 28mm

OBV: DIVA AVGVSTA FAVSTINA, Draped bust right.

REV: AETERNITAS S-C, Providentia standing left, holding globe & scepter.

REF: RIC 1163, Cohen 38, BMC 1459 (PENDING)

The dealer attributed the coin as is and the RIC reference as well. I looked at the Wildwinds coins and the letter placement is different, legend is the same. The coin also is either a heavy As or Dupondius due to weight and size.

I understand that some of the RIC volumes don't account for letter placement.

I can almost see a cornucopia on the reverse, no globe or scepter.

I like that Denarius as well and a not so common reverse type. Never seen it before.

I'm not sure about the attribution. Her right hand looks to be holding a patera rather than a globe. I'll have a look see.

That's a nice looking coin. I don't have time today to help with attribution. I'll weigh in next week sometime.
