I have this polish coin that I thought I should give it a dip.

Looks like the dip did the trick. What was the dip and what is the coin made of?

glad it worked---always know the metal content of a coin before dipping, or you could be in for a rude awaking! Just one tip---rinse with distilled water...tap water contains enough Cl (chlorine) and fluoride to discolor most copper or silver based coins.....better yet, don't clean you coin period.

You dodged a major bullet if that silver is alloyed with copper. Thiourea does something hideous to copper. :)

Sometimes dipping really does the job, and sometimes it makes things worse. In this case, it was a light dip, and it made the coin way better.

Never knew they had Walmart in Poland..... now if we could only get Walmart in China and pump them full of goods made in the good old US of A.
Better re package their goods in made in the USA packages and sell it back.
I bet they would pay big bucks for an all American Trump Chia- Pet head this holiday season.
    Ch....Ch ....Chia head :)

SuperDave. Have you any exerience or knowledge of what can occur when coins (any and all metals ) are exposed to ureathane foam for extended periods? Year or more.

No, but since they use polyurethane as a protective coating for metals and woods, I imagine it's rather safe. :)
