Yep, I'm pretty sure that's PMD/Parking lot coins - maybe you can get a special label from a TPG? "Great Dime Heist"

Oh, yeah, I came across that yesterday and meant to post about it. As we speculated at the time, they had a hard time spending that many dimes.
...and this is your periodic reminder that "coins" are not "cash", apparently.

I tried to purchase a $2.00 lottery ticket yesterday with nickels and dimes and the gas station clerk gave me a go-to-hell look. I even had them counted out and in a zip lock bag. I agree apparently coins are not cash anymore even though they were begging for them during the Covid shortage.

Since the coins never reached the public or to a bank, then this HAS to be considered MINT Damage !!

A new category of US MINT damage. TPGs rejoice !!

Think of all the copycats fake Mint Damage that may occur.
People just might think and throw their coins on the ground and claim it's Mint Damaged coins. Who would ever of thought of that ?
     :sour: o_O  :p :D

Nope... they were in transit from the mint to the Fed's contracted coin terminal. Which means they were delivered (FOB) by the mint cashier and thus monetized.

I just can't suspend disbelief quite that much... there has to be SOME bottom limit beyond which a TPG won't go... PLEASE!!!

Considering inflation and metal value of modern dimes, maybe they’ll also be charged with littering. :) Cal
