A reeded dime collar is too small for a cent planchet to fit inside it. Notice how the copper cent doesn&#039;t fit in the dime collar below. (The dime would fit if the dime collar wasn&#039;t torched/destroyed, which was done to prevent re-use outside the Mint).</p><p><br /></p><p>[ATTACH=full]944022[/ATTACH] [ATTACH=full]944023[/ATTACH]</p><p><br /></p><p>In addition, even if it did fit (for example, zinc coin metal stock was fed into a dime press punching dime-size blanks) this coin should have reeding on it; it doesn&#039;t.
