Went through my grandmas change she had accumulated (not through all of it yet) but i came across a dime that was hard to tell if it was md or not. Also found a nickel which i'm pretty sure is md but i just wanted someone to verify for me. dime http://i749.photobucket.com/albums/xx131/jon4485/CIMG1500.jpg http://i749.photobucket.com/albums/xx131/jon4485/CIMG1501.jpg nickel http://i749.photobucket.com/albums/xx131/jon4485/CIMG1502.jpg And i thought i'd just share the other things i found http://i749.photobucket.com/albums/xx131/jon4485/CIMG1506.jpg
If by 'md' you mean strike doubling I agree. Notice the shelflike appearance of the "doubling". That is a tell tale sign of strike doubling. Keep looking.
Machine doubling on both. Nothing actually doubled, just damaged from die movement during the strike. http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/coop49/Heavy_Machine_doubling_coop.jpg http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/coop49/Machine_Doubling_Different_from_Coin_To_Coin.jpg http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/coop49/Machine_Double_Cents.jpg
i meant machine doubling, It was hard for me to tell on the dime while its alot easier to see on pennies,I just needed some opinions thanks. And of course i'll always keep looking
