Die Repairs cost Britannia an Arm and a Leg

    As I have mentioned in the past, I clean ground finds as a hobby. Sometimes I get a surprise.

    This one was just such a one. What was revealed on the Reverse was that Britannia was missing her Right forearm and leg below the knee.

    I asked a few folks on the C4 Coin Forum, and the consensus was it was a die repair.

    I thought it was kind of neat.

    Great cleaning job. What is your method? If this was a Roman coin I'd dunk it in lye overnight and hope for the best.
