I know they are a common occurrence on coins and I've found many of them. The majority of mine I just pile up in red solo cups. The way I look at it is if it needs magnification to be seen, its probably not worth anything over face value. Is this an accurate assessment as it pertains to die chip and die crack coins? For die cracks I've seen many talk about "spiked head" coins where the cracks start at the rim and go down through the head of whatever dead president is on the coin. I have some like that with multiple cracks that look almost like lightning coming down with small die chips on them, are they worth a premium? For die chips I keep all my "BIE" pennies and those with chips that can be seen without magnification in 2x2's, the rest into a solo cup. As an example, here are some pics of two LMC's I have, one with a die crack that almost goes rim to rim and another with a decent size die chip. Would they be worth anything over face value? The reason I am asking is because I've quickly realized the coins I want are not that easy to attain in the wild and so I am thinking about selling some of my minor error and variety coins in order to save up and purchase some nicer slabbed coins. Any feedback is greatly appreciated![/QUOTE]
