On the 2022, it looks like it enters the rim. If it were struck through wire, it would be incuse in the field and in lower areas of the design. If it is a crack, it would be raised and generally, ragged and irregular.

With it in hand, are you seeing one or the other? Both but in different areas as noted in your labeled image?

kevin, thanks for your help and time. Not knowing the ins and outs of coin development and all the possible things that could happen at any stage of the process, an exact explanation may not happen. Im not seeing a scratch or a die crack. In my little book of coin knowledge, a strike through wire error makes the most sense.
