have a group of the same coins pick one out that you want to get graded and send in the wrong one...well I did
I had a bunch of those that I have been giving out to the grandchildren and friends. I save 4 or 5 that looked really good and sent one in, but I would have never send one in with a mark like that on it Oh well I'll have to pay more attention to what I'm doing.
I once sent in a 2013 P nickel with 6 FS to NGC to be graded surely thinking it would grade a 67 or 66. It came back a 64. The luster was there but it were tiny hits in the fields is what held it back. I was more excited about finding one from an unc roll than anything. Especially since I am no expert on how to spot varieties. Wish I had a pic. I later sold it for $30.00
@dwhiz, is that a "milk" spot on the reverse just below the horses head? Was that there when you sent it to ANACS? BTW, that's my favorite Sac. dollar reverse.
Not a milk spot looks like someone sneezed on it. I really don't thin it was there but I wouldn't bet on it. It's my favorite too that's why I sent it in
