    Started it

I was interested, for about a month or so.

Then I realized that I could do far better by working on other collections.

The states quarters did push me into completing a Washington quarter collection, all uncs & proofs (except for the big 4: 1932 D & S, 1934 D, and 1936 D, all in AU).

And it was great considering that I was buying the 1932 D & S for under $50 each, in grades up to VF, and a nice 32 s in XF for $69.
    The 32d in AU-50 cost me $130, the 32 S in AU-55 was $75, along with the 34 D at $155 in Unc, and the 1936D in Au-50 at $25.

    Thank you, states quarters!

I remember when these (the 1932 D & S) were $25 to $30 in good condition and no one wanted them.

LOTS OF 'D''s IN AUSTIN, TEXAS.

THE VERY FEW PHILLY'S I SEE IN CIRCULATION LOOK LIKE THEY HAVE TRAVELED A LONG WAY.

I HAVE VOTED (THE BALL OF WAX), SPOONS, FDCC, GREETINGS FROM AMERICA SETS AND EURO SET INCLUDED.

I MISSED OUT ON THE GOLD PLATE

im working on it :D i will complete it someday. I get the mint sets each year, but i put every state quarter i find in a box until i can sort them. i will have a full roll of each state/mint (except S) when i am done. some states are darn near impossible to find! IMHo they will never be worth more then face, at least the one i pull from circulation, but its fun to find, toss, sort and stash :)

    Yes I got em

Yes I got em but to tell you the truth I was so bored by the time Hawaii came out that I felt like "it's no big deal" - the set I got is nice every quarter from mint sets P's & D's, maybe somebody will get some value out of it - it felt a little like a challenge you win before you start - now you guys doing it from circulation, that hightens the interest factor but I've had my fill of the things. I rip open every roll and bag of them and after a quick glance use them for spend money.

I started, but like every other set I've ever started, I didn't and won't complete it.

Agreed. If you collect coins from circulation for enjoyment and/or accomplishment, you are a true collector. If everyone collected only coins that were worth more than face, they'd have a lot of duplicates as well as a pretty boring collection most likely. I'd call it investing or hoarding, not collecting.

I put together a set of D minted coins (and I have some of the P's), all of which I got from circulation. It's not a BU set but most of the coins are AU and it was fun to grab them and throw them in an album. They won't be worth anything, but they're worth what I have in them...and it was fun.

I actually have two Complete Uncirculated Clad P&D albums and one album from circulation with a few P mints missing. Oh yea, I also have two complete folders of one ea. colored Qtr for each year.

I voted yes both P and D mintmarks. I did it the easy way though. I didn't start "collecting" coins until well after the program started. I ended up buying the whole collection in an album so I cheated I guess.
