uh...cheaper scales will weigh within 1 and 2. Slightly better between 1.1 and 1.2

I agree. How many times have we seen someone post a coin saying it was valuable and when asked for proof, we never heard from them again?

 

It means you need a new scale.

 

A copper one would weigh 3.1

 

Weigh a new coin then your 83 for starters

 

I have found a few pennies (81) to be exact that weigh 3.1 alot of 70's a few 60's and majority 70's as far as 80s I have 5-1982 2 1983 4 1980 and some 81s Is this good?

1982 had cents minted in both Copper and Copper plated Zinc planchets.

Cents before mid 1982 weight 3.11 grams

Cents after mid 1982 weigh 2.5 grams

 

Those are some mighty big tolerances ! lol
