Did I Pay Too Much For My Morgan Silver Dollars?

Lets face it, if they can afford a tv commercial, they aren't offering coins for a "fair" value, as they need to be able to pay for the tv commercial and still make a profit.

If you go into a large local coin shop, you will see many common date Morgan dollars and Peace dollars for about $20-$25. If they are in somewhat exceptional quality, they might be worth $30 a piece at most.

The thing to know about Morgan dollars is that they mostly didn't circulate. So, almost all Morgan dollars should be AU50 or above, as they are quite common. A few key dates and CC Morgan dollars are worth a bit more.

Lastly, with silver at $17.60 an ounce, the silver bullion value of the Morgan dollars is about $14.....so this should be the absolute minimum they would be worth. If you can hang onto these coins for a few years, you might be able to actually make a profit on these coins, but it does seem iffy.
