Hiya everyone. I'm just wondering is I did okay on this ebay auction (as a buyer). The link is listed below. I checked the market prices a the time and this seemed below the price and I was surprised that the seller did the "buy now" feature at a lower price. Now I'm worried I did something wrong. If I did something wrong, please briefly explain what. Thank you, Chas. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160395691818&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
With the $3 shipping charge your total comes out to $20.99 and last I checked spot silver was around $18.78 per oz. I guess you did ok.
I wouldn't say you did anything wrong. At the worst, you might lose a couple of bucks. At the best, you might make a couple of bucks. No worries.
I agree and tend to buy silver only when the spot price dips. To the OP: I think you did fine with the Engelhard bar. My local coin/bullion dealer typically sells these and other bars/rounds for $1-2 over spot. I believe he buys them for $1-2 below spot. Engelhard is a good name. TC
If your looking for silver bullion like this.. DON'T Buy on Ebay unless it is Spot and your buying several from same buyer to save on shipping.. YOU can get this type of stuff locally for Spot + 1.00 at Most if you look around.. Buy it at 10 Bars at a time and see what deal you get.. Check your local Coin store for Junk Coins if your looking for Silver.. Its a great way to Variety search and Learn more about Coins/Silver.. It might start a passion.. you never Know.. I have some silver I am looking to sell.. Just Bullion Hunks and Balls Made From .999 Silver Shot.. I will be selling For Spot + .75.. through CraigsList.. I could sell on Ebay and make more.. Because Prices for Just .oz Bullion on Ebay are HIGH.. Buy in BULK.. Try AMPEX!.. IMHO I would wait till Silver is Lower.. I know others think it may go Higher and Higher but for now.. for te next couple months.. I dont think so.. wait a bit.. in a week.. near 19.00 then I sell.. if not.. then I wait.. when it / if it goes down.. BUY.. Save up $$ till then.. Just the way I fly.. Buy Low Sell High.. High.. LOL. Good Morning All!! Please don't roast me for my silly ideas about silver..
A bit on the Same line as Bullion Buying/Selling.. What do you all think of Selling my ASE so I can focus more on the Older coins that seem to have started a fire in my head.. ASE are nice.. But the last year with no Proof turned me off a bit and Buyers are nuts on Ebay for it.. Just thinking about selling a mixed roll or just a few Proofs... A few Proofs (6-7) would seem to make close to what a roll would do..
I guess you did okay. The picture is not too clear and the seller says" NO RETURNS". That would deter me from buying from this person. Plus less than perfect feedback. I hope it is what it is supposed to be. Measure the weight of it first thing when you receive it.
I am a big fan of the ASEs and would never part with mine but you should buy/collect what makes you happy. I think that once (if) the 2010 ASE proofs are issued that the earlier ASE proofs will come back down in price a bit. The proof ASEs tend not to fluctuate as much as the bullion ASEs based on based on silver spot price, so if you are looking to sell this MAY be a good time to do so. TC
