    Yes it costs, you still pay for the listing even if your item doesn’t sell.

    As a gold dollar collector, I would love to own a "ring dollar," but have never won one at auction. I hoped to win one of the non-gold, off-metal patterns from the Newman sales, but the prices realized were at all time highs.

    A "ring dollar" is piece that is struck on a perforated planchet. An example is shown several posts before this one.
