Design elements missing 1976 D nickel

    I noticed that the upper right side of the building has no design in it what is going on here? Someone please help this is strange to me I've never seen another like that has anyone else came across one? CM250204-175132009.jpg CM250204-175033006.jpg CM250204-175102007.jpg

    If you mean that tiny gap in the very upper part of the building it’s really nothing. The wear on the coin makes it difficult to determine why but it’s nothing anyone would pay extra for.

    First thing, about the design shouldn't there be some kind of lattice or railing there? all that's there is an empty box even the other box on the other side has some kind of design in there CM241114-183636014.jpg CM250204-175102007.jpg

    It's just the design. No one ever goes up there anyways. :rolleyes:

    I go up there every time I search coins if you're not then you're not looking at every part of the coin ( right?)

    I didn't design the nickel. All I can say is that it is the original design.

    Well your nickel is in petty rough shape. The loss of detail could be wear and or strike.
