How will this be judged? By kirkuleze or by a poll? I think that could be usefull for those who "MUST WIN!!! :smile"
I'm sorry, I just have a new found love for Morgans, and that is an amazing Morgan!! But, from what I read, everybody will vote on their favorite coin, and the winner will get the Morgan. Kirkuleze had said about choosing his favorite design to be second place. He beer said for sure if he was doing that though.
How about for the token being struck, how about choosing the best designs for the obverse and the reverse as many people (myself included) only designed one side?
Here are my designs for obverse and reverse. Just some quick sketches to lay my ideas out. OBVERSE REVERSE
Well, I'm not sure if that is going to happen yet, I need to get with the engraver. But if it does, I was thinking that I would let the winner decide. Either they can choose a design from another member or create their own. If it does happen, everyone that has submitted an entry will get one. And there will be a second prize, I think a proof Franklin. It will be awarded to my personal favorite. Don't forget last place...an ugly 1990 proof Lincoln cent with lovely fingerprints and areas of black corrosion shipped loose in a box.
Here's my entry "United States of America" is a little hard to read, but Im sure if this coin actually existed and you had it in your hand it would be easier to read.
Here is my entry, sorry for the smudges. It isn't quite as good of quality as it should be...... (click on the thumbnail to see it larger)
It would beat the heck out of everything that we have now except many the ASE.. I think the reverse can be a dandilion. Its not very american (a european import actually) but it seems to be appropriate. The only thing American i can think of is Corn.
I've never seen a coin with a round obverse and rectangular reverse. That is truly innovative Ruben. Mad props.
Actually, the more i look at it the more I like it. I'd use it as an Icon but i don't want to lose the one I have.
