    Went through 6 years in 2 hours. I don't understand the rush to post. I would like to see other coins from the forum members.

    I'll have to sit back and watch now. Of the few coins I own that are older than 1849, none are U.S.

    Good! I was able to get this one in. This was made from the first shipment of California gold to arrive on the east coast.

    This 1845 large cent is part of my large cent "dabbling in a date set" collection. Oddly enough, I have not found an 1844 that pleased me for the price yet. This one is PCGS graded as an AU-58.

    Here is something different, an 1843-D quarter eagle. This is actually one of the most common Dahlonega Mint quarter eagle dates. Most depositors wanted $5 gold pieces which swelled their mintage. The Dahlonega mint didn't get as many orders for the $2.50 gold pieces, and when they did, they had trouble striking them.

    I bought this one raw many years ago. PCGS graded it AU-58.
