Kaidu was a Mongolian nationalist who opposed Kublai Khan&#039;s shift away from traditional Mongolian practices as he became the Chinese Emperor Shizu of the Yuan Dynasty and moved the capital to what is today Beijing. </p><p><br /></p><p>The coin shown above is from Abaqa Khan, a great-grandson of Genghis Khan and leader of the Ilkhanate.
