I found this tiny Greek coin in my old box. It was wrongly amid Roman coins. The obverse shows Demetrius I, while there's a palm tree on reverse with a lovely green patina. The coin was struck in Tyre and weighs 2.43 g. Newell 55. Feel free to post any coin from Tyre or with a palm tree.
...wow.. what a nice Greek treasure to "find" in your Roman box ..since it was the town of the Phoenicians 1st(before the Greeks) there was a mixing of the 2 cultures, which is normal and Tyre put out some interesting coins. And it reminds me of coins of Carthage, as well it should for they were also the Phoenicians. My coins of Tyre(circa 100BC) and Carthage(350BC approx.)
