Defective Planchet? 1985 Lincoln

    These are shelf anomalies in between the columns. Drops off to a lower area. Weird.

    Not a defective planchet by any means. That’s a definite die clash!

    Found a match on Mad Die Clashes!

    ADC-1c-1985-01
    In bays 7 & 8 are unusual clash marks. Overlays suggest that it is part of Lincoln’s bears and throat. The degree of rotation is about 8 degrees and the misalignment about 5%. This is not enough to constitute a MAD clash entry, but enough to substantiate its inclusion in the Atypical files.

    The obverse was void of any clash marks.

    There you go! Glad you found a match. Now you know why it drops off to a lower area. It’s a mild but tire mint error. :)
