I would wear it proudly...however, some people might finally say under the breath after they read my badge..."So that's the Ed Zak...the one with the sometimes insensitve posts... he really is one big S.O.B." All kidding aside, great idea.
Im with joesmom on this, especially for a busy dealer. If its a small show bring your junk and do some trading. I got rid of a few hundred dollars of unwanted/cleaned coins and got some nice ones in exchange.
hey bet theres plenty of pawn shops in vegas, where there will be coins. All the people going there and needing to sell something to get the air ticket back home after the bright lights empty there pockets. What makes you think they would be bringing coins with them to pawn so they can get more money? Don't you now that every sucker. .er tourist that comes to Vegas nows that he is going to come home a winner so he doesn't have to bring things to raise cash. My first coin show- I'll be like a kid in a candy store. Other than locking up my wallet and keeping my hand in my pockets- Any advice?? Richard First, do not attend it alone. The first major show IS overwhelming even for an experienced collector. And it can be much worse if the major show is also your first show. You will find it much more fun, and productive, if you are able to hook up with another collector who is a veteran of major shows. It will be benificial to have someone there to give you advice, to bounce questions off of and in general to keep you grounded and focused until you get used to the overwhelming scope of the show, and what is available both to buy, see, and do.
Junk? Who collects junk? I have some coins of lesser value, some extremely circulated, a few with environmental damage and maybe a couple borderline roadkill, but no junk. Valued treasures every one.
What joke It's not joke.- according to the encyeloepdeia The South Runs from Virginia to Jacksonville anthing below that on the East coast is a SUBURB of New York, Haiti and Cuba! Welcome to the North Richard
Somebody told me once that northern Florida is called L.A. (as in Lower Alabama), while central and southern Florida is NY's sixth burough, and the Miami area is really Cuba's northernmost province.

All I have got to say is I just finished a hunting trip near Dodge City and the whole time out on the range I was thinking about my stop at Boot Hill Coins in Dodge City the last day I would be there!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE THEY WERE CLOSED ON MONDAYS??? Everything else went according to plan but I didn't get my "hit" in Dodge!!! Hey KLJ went through Kansas City twice while out there (actually spent a night in Independence) but only managed some time in Cabelas in Kansas City. Didn't have a clue where a coin shop might be but can say this "Some of the finest PEOPLE in the U.S. live in KANSAS!!! Love the place!!! Got home yesterday just before some real bad weather took over the whole state of Kansas!!!
Southerners live in North Florida and northerners live in South Florida. That's why Florida is headquarters for D.A.M--Mothers Against Dyslexia.
