I haven't gone for a toned Columbian half because I guess I'm too cheap. The toners seem to fetch big money, compared to how relatively inexpensive Columbian halves seem to be, otherwise. Or maybe I'm just remembering how cheap they were in the past. That happens to me a lot as I get older.</p><p><br /></p><p>Wow! That one packs a bang! Congrats on sticking in there and getting it into a straight-graded holder! I would have given up too soon and admitted defeat when they QC-ed it. This has happened to me before with a medieval hammered gold coin. PCGS details-graded it (not for QC but for another issue). Then I gave up on it and sold it, and the next guy resubmitted it raw and got not only a higher (straight) grade on it, but a better TrueView as well! I still gnash my teeth over that one. Oh well. Win some, lose some.</p><p><br /></p><p>Oh- BTW, I have never owned an Isabella quarter. I shall have to address that someday.</p><p><br /></p><p>Whoa, Nellie! Brrr! What a frosty supergem! A <i>white</i> coin with a star label! I can totally see why you went there. And I do like 'em white when there's booming luster like that. (I've never owned a TX commem.)</p><p><br /></p><p>For some reason, I can't quite bring myself to buy a coin that's toned on one side and not on the other. That's a silly OCD-ish thing, I guess. The color on that one is certainly impressive. I like how the greens glow like the aurora borealis, and contrast the other colors so well. That one really is like a piece of art.</p><p><br /></p><p>I like those little hints of color on yours. Here is my by-now familiar one. I see we have slightly different birds, there.
