His ultimate sacrifice in defense of the Alamo sealed his place in history.</p><p><br /></p><p>In 2003 Bill H.R.3526 David "Davy" Crockett Commemorative Coin Act was introduced in the House of Representatives. The act was to authorize a commemorative silver one dollar coin and five dollar gold coins commemorating the service that Davy Crockett gave to the United States. Having not ever seen a Crocket coin personally, I wondered why there wasn't one.
