hi everyone! :Di bought this old datless v nickel out of the bargin bin at the flea market for 25 cents a couple months ago. it has been soaking in vingar for a week now, and i'm just able to read a date. i think it is either a 1883 or a 1888. it has part of five cents visible, so i know it has the word cents on it. here is a picture of the front of it. if you look closely you can see the faint trace of a date. can ya'll see a date on here? thanks.

Yes, I see the hint of a date. Not well enough to be sure though.

lol!:hail: i'm going to have to put it in vinegar for another week and see if the date comes out better. can anyone tell the date on this one? i had it in for a week also. i think its a 1894, but i'm not sure.

Cody, on the first nickle I can't tell the date. But on the second one it does look like 1894 to me.
