It's damaged and not worth grading or attribution. I'm glad someone has money to burn. Please post the results here when it comes back.

The folks on here are telling the truth about this coin being a damaged coin. I am a 40 # year error and variety coin collector and specialize in identifying a real mint error from a after mint damaged or faked error. Something smooth and flat has bumped into this coin and slid and rolled the right side of the 0 over to where it is now. I know it looks convincing but it is after mint damage.

Wasting your breath (finger tips?) with this one. They are convinced it's an error.

To be a mint error "1980 Backwards D" would mean that the die that produced this coin had the error on it. That means 10's of thousands of other coins were produced by this same error die.
That didn't happen. There is no such known error and believe me you don't have a discovery coin. (1st one found.) It's been 40 years. You don't have the 1st one of a new and undiscovered error.
If you are trolling, OK I can take a joke.
But if you actually believe this nonsense, there is no hope for you.

Your coin is damaged and worth .01 cent. People are just trying to save you money and the embarrassment.

I also don't believe that any reputable and knowledgeable dealer would believe this is a mint error and tell you that. So, either you didn't go to a dealer and are just saying that to use as your argument, or these people are far from experts, or are looking towards selling you some "mint errors".

Mtvalleysharon, I can understand your hope that
your coin is an error coin. That is understandable. You
would have an error attributed to you as the discoverer.
You might even pocket some serious cash if it were so.
Please see the pic I have attached. Can you see any
damage to the rim near the " Y " ? How about damage
to the field around the "Y". It's not there is it ? BUT I
can assure you that the mint did not do a one time deal on this 44' wheatie by replacing the t with a y just so
some one down the road could find it. WIN_20190226_16_38_24_Pro.jpg

How they make cars and how coins are minted are 2 different things.. The Cent in question is damaged and you know nothing.
